Mick Curran slides back into his role as Utility Coach for the 2011 season.

Before serving as Hitting Coach during the 2010 campaign and helping the ‘Cats to a sixth consecutive playoff berth, Curran joined the RailCats in 2009 as the team's Utility Coach, performing a variety of duties for Manager Greg Tagert and serving as the team's First Base Coach. The RailCats posted the Northern League's best record in 2009 and advanced to a fifth straight Northern League Championship Series.

Curran has also worked for the past six years as an instructor at the prestigious John Mallee ProStyle Baseball School in Griffith, Ind., working regularly with some of the top major and minor league players in the country.  Mallee works as the Hitting Coordinator of the Florida Marlins, and also works closely with former RailCat Anthony Iapoce, who is now the Toronto Blue Jays Hitting Coordinator after working as a coach in the Marlins system for several years.

Curran played collegiately at Illinois Wesleyan where he was a three-time First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection.  Curran finished his career as the Titans all-time hits leader.
