Former RailCats pitcher Jake Upwood returns to the Steel Yard this season as the RailCats new pitching coach. Upwood pitched for the ‘Cats in 2003 and led the team with a 1.86 ERA in 30 appearances. His six-year playing career also included pitching for parts of two seasons in the San Diego Padres organization. Upwood has been working as a baseball instructor since 2006 and was an assistant coach at Onandaga Community College in Syracuse, N.Y. for the last six seasons.
