Infielder Danny Pulfer signed with the RailCats as a free agent on April 17, 2013. Pulfer is a former Arizona Diamondbacks farmhand and spent two seasons in the organization.
2012: Played 55 games for the Missoula Osprey in the rookie Pioneer League and batted .285/.348/.395 with two homers, 10 doubles, three triples and 27 RBI. He was 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts and scored 32 runs...hit for the cycle on June 27 vs. Helena, going 4-for-6 with six RBI...The second player in team history to hit for the cycle, Pulfer was 0-for-15 on the season before that...named Pioneer League Player of the Week on July 2, as he was 10-for-19 with five extra-base hits, seven RBI and four runs scored...won the 2012 Pioneer League Championship with the Osprey.
Career Notes: As a rookie in 2011, Pulfer played in 59 games for Yakima in the Short-Season Pioneer League. Hit .258/.333/.340 with two home runs and 20 RBI...Selected in the 19th round of the 2011 draft by the D-Backs...Played three collegiate seasons at Oregon, and was part of the original class as the school brought back baseball in 2009 after the program was discontinued following the 1981 season...was named First-Team All-Pac 10 as a junior in 2011, the first Ducks position player to receive that honor since the program was reinstated...Pulfer was a Pac-10 Honorable Mention in 2010...holds school records for career hits, doubles, games, at-bats and games played...as a junor he led the team in most offensive categories, batting .351 with a .426 on-base percentage...set a single-season record with 16 doubles.
