Ed McCaskey
Media and Advertising Assistant
Ed McCaskey joined the RailCats in January 2010 as the Media and Advertising Assistant. Ed is responsible for helping coordinate the RailCats Media Relations and Marketing efforts.
Ed attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois where he earned a degree in Business/Economics. At Wheaton, Ed was a pitcher on the Thunder baseball team. Ed helped Wheaton to a school record for wins and its first ever CCIW Conference Tournament appearance in his junior year. The following year, as the lone senior, Ed helped lead the Thunder to the Championship Game of the CCIW Conference Tournament in which Wheaton fell to eventual Division III Semifinalist Carthage College. In addition, he currently holds the school record for saves in a single season at Wheaton College.
Ed joined the RailCats after spending the 2009 season as Director of Media for the Coastal Bend Thunder of the United League in Robstown, Texas. In addition to his studies and baseball at Wheaton College, Ed spent time working as a Sports Information Assistant where he was responsible for the statistics at many fall and winter sporting events. Ed was a 2008 summer intern at the league offices of the National Football League in the Youth Football Department in New York City. Prior to working for the NFL, Ed also spent four years as an intern with the equipment department of the Chicago Bears Football Club.
