Ed McCaskey
Media Relations Manager
Ed McCaskey was named Media Relations Manager in October 2010 after joining the RailCats in January 2010. McCaskey's responsibilities include writing press releases, maintenance of the team's website, publication design and a variety of other duties as a member of the RailCats Marketing Team.
McCaskey attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois where he earned a degree in Business/Economics. At Wheaton, McCaskey was a pitcher on the Thunder baseball team and helped Wheaton to a school record for wins and its first ever CCIW Conference Tournament appearance in his junior year. The following year, as the lone senior, McCaskey helped lead the Thunder to the Championship Game of the CCIW Conference Tournament in which Wheaton fell to eventual Division III Semifinalist Carthage College. In addition, the Lake Forest, Ill. native currently holds the school record for saves in a single season at Wheaton College.
McCaskey joined the RailCats after spending the 2009 season as Director of Media for the Coastal Bend Thunder of the United League in Robstown, Texas. McCaskey spent time working as a Sports Information Assistant at Wheaton where he was responsible for keeping the statistics at many fall and winter sporting events. McCaskey was a 2008 summer intern at the league offices of the National Football League in New York City in the Youth Football Department. Prior to working for the NFL, McCaskey also spent four years as a ball boy with the equipment department of the Chicago Bears Football Club.
McCaskey currently resides in Wheaton, Ill. and considers himself to be the biggest Bears fan in the 'Cats front office (and it's not even close).
