Matt Friedman joins the RailCats in 2012 as the team's Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations in his third season of working in professional baseball. He will be the "Voice of the RailCats" for all 100 RailCats games.
Matt was most recently the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League in 2011. He broke into baseball in 2010 as the No. 2 broadcaster for the Kinston Indians, the Advanced-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
Prior to baseball, Matt began his broadcast career as the Sports Director of the ESPN Radio affiliate in Great Bend, Kansas, where he hosted a daily sports talk show and announced high school sports.
While earning a degree in Journalism from Ohio State, Matt broadcast Buckeye athletics on student radio, including the 2007 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament and 2008 BCS National Championship Game. Matt is a native of Cleveland and a loyal and long-suffering supporter of his hometown Browns, Cavaliers and Indians. He resides in Chicago.
