The RailCats are proudly sponsoring three great school programs in 2010 as part of their commitment to the youth of Northwest Indiana. Back in 2010 are the immensely popular Kids Day games, the RailCats Reading Club and the Outstanding Student Rewards program.

The RailCats invite Region students out to U. S. Steel Yard for their annual Kids Field Trip Days May 24 and 25 at 11 a.m. at U. S. Steel Yard! Kids Days not only build lasting memories for kids, they’re also an unbeatable value!
2010 "Go Green" Contest
This year’s Kids Days are the culmination of the “School Cats are Cool Cats” program for students in grades K-8. This year, students from participating classes throughout Northwest Indiana will help the RailCats "Go Green" by decorated a trash receptacle to be used as a Recycling Bin at U. S. Steel Yard. RAILCATS READING CLUB

The RailCats Reading Club is back for 2010, and membership gets you a free ticket to every Tuesday game!
Any student in grades K-8 can participate in the RailCats Reading Club, and the program is customizable to fit the needs of any teacher and classroom! Every participating teacher will receive an instruction packet, a motivating RailCats poster, approval slips and membership cards. All the RailCats ask is that the program be completed no later than June 1, 2010.
Students who complete the program will receive a membership card in the RailCats Reading Club good for one FREE reserved seat ticket at any Tuesday 6 p.m. home game – special designated Kids Nights at U. S. Steel Yard this summer – AND $2 off any additional tickets purchased for friends and family. The membership cards are not valid on May 25.

OUTSTANDING STUDENT PROGRAM

For the third year in a row, the RailCats are offering the popular Outstanding Student Program for kids in grades K-8. This program rewards the best kids in your classroom with free admission to three RailCats home games this summer – Wednesday, June 2, Tuesday, July 6 & Tuesday, August 3. Anyone accompanying this outstanding student to the ballpark will also get a $2 discount off the price of their ticket!
Simply distribute the Outstanding Student reward voucher to your students for having reached a goal or accomplishment in the classroom or school. This can include – but is not limited to – perfect attendance, outstanding grades or participation in special school projects.
