Catch every RailCats game in 2010 on the air in Northwest Indiana! Radio broadcasts have been a part of RailCats baseball since the team’s inception in 2002, and games will be carried this year throughout Northwest Indiana on The Lakeshore, 89.1 FM. The RailCats also broadcast every game on the web at www.railcatsbaseball.com.

Third-year RailCats play-by-play voice Andy Viano will return in 2010, and we encourage every listener to e-mail any questions and thoughts to aviano@railcatsbaseball.com. 2010 BROADCAST TEAM

Andy Viano (aviano@railcatsbaseball.com) -
Veteran broadcaster Andy Viano is back for a third season as the “Voice of the RailCats” in 2009, his sixth overall with the organization. Viano will call all 100 regular season RailCats games in 2010 in addition every postseason and selected exhibition contests.

Viano served as the RailCats #2 Broadcaster under both Alan Garrett and Tom Nichols from 2004-06 before taking over as the club’s primary play-by-play man before the 2008 season. Viano worked previously as the play-by-play broadcaster and Director of Sports Information at Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y., where he called NCAA Division III baseballl, basketball, soccer and hockey.

Viano graduated from Valparaiso University in 2005 and broadcast hundreds of Crusader football, baseball, basketball, soccer and softball games as a student.  While at Valparaiso, Viano won a myriad of broadcasting awards and was named the 2005 Indiana Sportscaster of the Year by the IASB.  Viano is a native of Downers Grove, Ill. and currently makes his home in Chicago alongside his wonderful wife, Rachel.

In the offseason, Viano also works on the Valpo Sports Radio Network, providing commentary for all Valparaiso University football and men's basketball games.
