Fan Fest Online Ticket Sale Now Underway!
» All News
GARY, Ind. — Tickets to experience the Gary SouthShore RailCats Second Annual Fan Fest are on sale now through the team’s official website, www.railcatsbaseball.com.  After attracting nearly 1,000 fans last year, the 2010 Fan Fest is scheduled for Saturday, February 20 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel in Merrillville.

A one-of-a-kind minor league baseball event, Fan Fest combines everything fans have come to know and love about baseball at U. S. Steel Yard, just without the summer sun and a game being played.  Highlighted by stadium-style games, player autographs, question-and-answer forums with the RailCats top decision-makers, player-conducted clinics for aspiring RailCats and more, Fan Fest is the perfect cure for the winter blues for fans of all ages.

Fan Fest tickets are $20 for adults, and $10 for kids (age 12 and under) and 2010 RailCats season ticket holders.  Like in 2009, a ticket to Fan Fest also includes a voucher for a seat at Opening Day, Thursday, May 20 at 7 p.m. at U. S. Steel Yard against the Kansas City T-Bones.  The first 500 kids at Fan Fest will also get a complimentary baseball courtesy of Hoosier Bat Company, and the RailCats will have a special additional giveaway as well.

Fan Fest tickets are only $20 if you buy in advance, however, with the price going up to $25 on the day of the event.  Tickets are available at www.railcatsbaseball.com, by calling the RailCats at 219.882.2255 or dropping in at U. S. Steel Yard during regular business hours.

More than a dozen current and former RailCats players and coaches attended the 2009 Fan Fest, and former Major League legend Tommy John also made a guest appearance.  The RailCats will announce a full lineup of guests and activities in 2010, including a couple new attractions.  Of course, two special guests who are certain to be in attendance are the first felines of RailCats baseball, Rusty & Rascal, clowning around and taking pictures with their fans.

The Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza is once again the home of Fan Fest, and is located at the intersection of I-65 and US-30 in Merrillville and is adjacent to the Star Plaza Theatre, the Region’s foremost indoor entertainment venue.  For more information on the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza, visit http://www.radisson.com/merrillvillein.

The RailCats will host the first-ever U. S. Steel “Yard Sale” this Saturday, December 12 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., with everything from used bases to game-worn uniforms on sale as the ‘Cats finally get around to a little closet cleaning.  All RailCats merchandise will also be on sale at unprecedented discounts, and Fan Fest tickets will be on sale, too!  For more information, call the RailCats at 219.882.2255 or visit www.railcatsbaseball.com.
