GARY, Ind. — The holidays are just around the corner and the Gary SouthShore RailCats are offering unique gifts for the Region’s rowdiest RailCats fans.  The RailCats Online Store at railcatsbaseball.com is stocked with 2008 apparel, and starting next week the RailCats will be launching their latest endeavor – online auctions.

The RailCats will be auctioning off three special-edition jerseys autographed by the entire 2008 team at RailCatsBaseball.com beginning November 3.  The bidding on the first of the three jerseys – a red RailCats uniform worn June 21 when the ‘Cats beat Schaumburg at U. S. Steel Yard – will kick off Monday morning at 9 a.m. Central Time and last until 5 p.m. Friday, November 7.

Bids will be accepted via e-mail to auctions@railcatsbaseball.com, and the current leading bid will be updated each morning at 9 a.m.  Bids must include a full name and must be sent from a valid e-mail address.  Bidding will begin at $70, and bids will only be accepted in increments of $10 ($80, $90, $100, etc.).  Any bids received before November 3 at 9 a.m. or that do not follow the specific guidelines will be voided.  Absolutely no phone bids will be accepted.  Winners will be contacted via e-mail the following Monday (November 10) and must make payment at that time via check or credit card (Visa, Mastercard and American Express accepted).

In the following two weeks, the RailCats will also be auctioning special-edition Hawaiian and Camouflage uniforms.  Fans may only bid on the specific uniform that is being auctioned at that time.

The RailCats have established a Tradition of Excellence, winning the Northern League Championship in 2005 and 2007, and advancing to a league-record four straight championship series.  The RailCats begin the 2009 season at beautiful U. S. Steel Yard in May.
