GARY, Ind. — The Gary SouthShore RailCats Baseball Club has announced the hiring of Valparaiso native Alan Bowman as Director of Group Sales and Gary native Nikki Kimbrough as Assistant Manager of Merchandise and Community Relations.

Bowman joins the organization with a wealth of experience in professional sports, working most recently for the Bowling Green (Ky.) Hot Rods of the South Atlantic League as Director of Ticket Sales.  Bowman had worked previously for the Arizona Diamondbacks and spent three years in the Chicago Bulls sales department.  In his new role with the RailCats, Bowman will supervise the sales staff and oversee the team’s group sales efforts.

Bowman joins Kimbrough as new additions to the team’s full-time front office staff for 2010.  Kimbrough was hired by the RailCats as the Assistant Manager of Merchandise & Community Relations after completing her internship during the 2009 season.

The RailCats also have announced that Mike Smith, who worked for the RailCats since 2004 and was the club’s Assistant General Manager the last two seasons, has resigned to pursue other opportunities.  The RailCats wish Smith the best of luck on his future endeavors and thank him for his almost six years as part of the RailCats family.
