Series finale against Fargo-Moorhead washed out

FARGO, N.D. — The series finale between the Gary SouthShore RailCats and Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks was postponed on Thursday at Newman Outdoor Field due to continuous rain and unplayable field conditions. The game will be made up as a doubleheader sometime between August 9th – 12th when Fargo-Moorhead visits Gary for the final time during the regular season at U.S. Steel Yard.

Despite being unable to play Thursday’s series finale, Gary went 4-1 during their originally scheduled six-game road trip and won back-to-back series for the first time since June 4th – 10th after taking two of three from the Winnipeg Goldeyes over the weekend and winning the first two games on Tuesday and Wednesday against Fargo-Moorhead.

Gary returns home to U.S. Steel Yard on Friday, July 20th vs. the St. Paul Saints for the start of a six-game homestand. RailCats RHP Daniel Minor (9-2, 3.00) opposes Saints LHP Chris Nunn (2-1, 2.07) in Friday’s opener. Friday’s game is also Kevin “Bacon” Night and includes bacon-themed concession specials, as well as another Fifth Third Bank Fireworks Friday.
